For transforming our country into a digitally empowered nation, CybageKhushboo in association with NASSCOM Foundation, has launched Cybage NDLM Digital Literacy Center at Khulewadi slums on January 7, 2016.
During the event, Ritu Nathani, Director, Cybage Software and Managing Trustee, CybageKhushboo addressed the audience explaining the organization’s plans on strengthening the transformation of the country through this initiative. On the occasion, Shrikant Sinha, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation was of the view, “Being digitally literate will help citizen to access services as Pune starts its journey towards becoming a smart city in its true sense.”
For this center, Cybage has facilitated a well-equipped lab-like set-up with 10 computers and other digital devices, internet connection and professionally qualified trainers. The center will offer free digital education to people in the age group of 14 – 65 years.
For enrolling, a candidate needs to have AADHAAR Card and should be at least seventh grade passed. Every day, there will be eight to ten batches for training. The center will be offering training as per the curriculum designed by NASSCOM, which is followed by a certification exam. After passing the exam, trainees will be able to handle various digital devices, understand IT security compliances, send emails, network on social media and perform online banking and other e-commerce transactions.
Cybage, with its keen interest in education and uplifting the weaker sections of the society, envisions benefiting more than 500 households in a year through this center. The center has received an overwhelming response with more than 150 participants till May 2016 from the residents of the community.
