CybageKhushboo, the philanthropic arm of Cybage Software, recently inaugurated a Skill Development Center in Bare Khurd village, Bhor Taluka in Pune, to empower women of the Maharashtra state.
It has started a 3-month basic and advanced tailoring program in cooperation with the trainers from Jnan Prabodhinee, an NGO working in the areas of rural development, education, and women leadership.
The event took place on 14 December 2021 and was attended by the representatives of the Panchayat Samiti, Gram Panchayat, and Cybage CSR division.
Cybage CSR Representative said that "We are delighted to bring the tailoring skill to the rural areas of Maharashtra, and it is our constant endeavor to empower women in all facets of life. Skill development is the need of the hour, and we are trying to scale the education gap in our country's rural and urban areas in the best possible manner. We are confident that this initiative will not only add value to the financial condition of the families involved, but it will also give a push to the trainees to start their entrepreneurial journey."
The womenfolk of Bare Khurd village primarily depend on agriculture and daily wages to earn their livelihood. This training program will open a new revenue stream for these women. 25 women have been currently enrolled in the first batch.
