Cybage, as a part of its CSR initiatives, believes in giving back to the society with its various initiatives and associating with various institutes and causes. A recent contribution was done in the field of nursing education. As a part of the Annual Scholarship Program 2015, CybageKhushboo recently distributed scholarships amounting to Rs. 5,60,000 to students from the Basic B.Sc. Nursing course.
Nursing stream has a huge demand and offers great placement opportunities. In spite of this, students find it an unattractive career option because of the lack of awareness. “Nurses promote social well-being. It is a profession which believes in giving back to the society,” expressed Mrs. Ritu Nathani, Managing Trustee, CybageKhushboo, on the occasion.
“A year back, we joined hands with Bakul Tambat Institute of Nursing Education, considering the wretched backgrounds of the girls of this institute who have seen life’s hardships at a very young age,” said Ritu Nathani. The institute is a part of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, which is a pioneer organization promoting women empowerment and education. “What started with a support to four students back in 2012, has now grown to an association supporting 33 scholars including renewals of the old scholars and 14 more added this year,” Mrs. Nathani informed.
This was the last slot of scholarship distribution from CybageKhushboo this year. With this distribution, the total number of beneficiary count for this year has come up to 109 students with total scholarships amounting to Rs. 36, 87,669.
“We are overwhelmed with the support of volunteers who have made the finicky applicant scrutiny process settled. We look forward to a continual co-operation from all Cybagians,” added Ritu.
